Funerals

A funeral is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping.

Everyone who desires it can have a Christian burial service (funeral) presided over by the Chaplain; whether they attended church during their life or not.

If you are not a regular churchgoer or are uncertain about what to expect you can contact our Chaplain, Fr Jeremy who will be happy to plan with you what is appropriate in the circumstances. You can also visit www.churchofenglandfunerals.org. It is sometimes the case that a loved one has either died in the UK or another country and has had their funeral in that country.

Often their friends and family in France want to celebrate their life but are unable to attend their funeral abroad. On such an occasion we are able to offer a Memorial Service at one of our churches. Contact our Chaplain, Fr Jeremy to discuss and plan a Memorial Service.
