It was a cliff-hanger as to whether to go ahead with the Vide Grenier last Saturday. The weather forecast was dire (and it was quite right!) However, our keen volunteers were raring to go so we got the show on the road, using the church for the sale of books and bric-a-brac and the hall for the clothes.
Clients trickled in slowly, along with the rainwater dripping from their umbrellas. However, at the end of the day, as some of the 26 helpers were waiting for the result over a well-deserved glass of wine, we learned from our secretary Bob that we had raised €2000. Everyone was extremely happy and somewhat surprised at this gratifying outcome.
